I pressed the power button and tried going into boot-mode manually using F8, twice. Over 3 hours later, I came back and it was stuck right after loading 'amdkmpfd'. I ran the Display Driver Uninstaller utility, went into boot-mode, and walked away. My Windows 7 reinstall DVD is in another state.ĭuring the Windows' update installation process, the screen randomly flashed on and off rapidly. I spent the rest of the time installing Window's updates, new drivers and other programs I needed (Avast, Malwarebytes, Firefox, MS Office, etc), and uninstalled Acer's OEM bloatware.

The note left by the technician informed that all they did was wipe the SSD and install Acer's OEM Win 7, flashed the BIOS to a more stable version and replaced the display. I got my Acer Travelmate P645-MG back from the repair today.
